Information and communication. That’s really what the Niagara Employment Network (NEN) meetings are all about.
These quarterly meetings provide you with an opportunity to share and gather information while communicating with peers who are also working with unemployed clients in Niagara.
So much can be shared electronically but Literacy Link Niagara believes that it is still important to have an opportunity to meet face-to-face, to build your network and to learn together.
The quarterly NEN meetings will provide you with an opportunity to
- distribute your agency/program information
- provide updates and conduct outreach
- build your professional network
- participate in professional development opportunities
Prior to each meeting an agenda will be distributed and following each meeting, minutes will be sent out. Both pieces of information will also be available on the “Cog Blog”.
The NEN meetings are open to anyone who is working with clients that are unemployed and living in Niagara. There is no cost and the door is open to anyone that fits the above criteria so please plan to join us at our next meeting (2011 schedule):
January 26th
April 27th
August 24th
November 23rd
The meetings run from 9am to 11:30am with opportunities both before and after for additional networking. Unless otherwise noted, the meetings will be held at Literacy Link’s home office, 3340 Schmon Parkway in Thorold, entrance through the front doors.
